Flexjet Breaks Ground On $36 Million Scottsdale Private Terminal
Flexjet Breaks Ground In Scottsdale
Scottsdale Airport has a major project on the runway. Flexjet has broken ground on a $36 million private terminal near the Scottsdale Airpark. The facility will serve Flexjet aircraft owners, travel guests, aircraft crews, & company operations. Its arrival also comes during a period of major construction across North Scottsdale. Big news. Here’s what is coming.
Quick Points
- Flexjet is building at Scottsdale Airport
- The project carries a $36 million budget
- Plans include a terminal, hangar, & offices
- North Scottsdale keeps adding major projects
Flexjet Plants A Flag At Scottsdale Airport
Flexjet selected the city of Scottsdale for one of its owner-only private terminals. The company already operates terminals serving Teterboro, White Plains, Dallas, Naples, & Van Nuys. Scottsdale now joins that aviation map. Flexjet broke ground at 15115 North Airport Drive in May 2025. The site sits along Scottsdale Airport’s west side. The company’s first announcement set a late-2026 opening goal, though construction schedules can shift.
- Ground-up construction
- $36 million project budget
- Two-story terminal building
- Flexjet-owner access
- Scottsdale Airport location
The selection puts Scottsdale beside private aviation markets tied to New York, Southern California, Florida, & Texas. It also gives Flexjet a permanent base inside one of Arizona’s main corporate aviation centers.
See What Is Coming To The Airfield
This will be a full aviation facility. Plans call for a 9,000-square-foot passenger terminal for Flexjet owners & their guests. Flexjet will add 9,500 square feet of office space. A 34,000-square-foot maintenance hangar will support aircraft service. The design will take cues from Flexjet’s headquarters in Cleveland. Large windows will bring McDowell Mountain views into the building.
- 9,000-square-foot passenger terminal
- 9,500 square feet of offices
- 34,000-square-foot maintenance hangar
- 2,400-square-foot outdoor terrace
- 29,000-square-foot underground car park
- Ramp-side vehicle access
- Meeting & workspace areas
Plans also include café stations, a bar, indoor event areas, exterior gathering space, & aircraft support from Flexjet Technical Services. The terrace will face the McDowell Mountains while overlooking activity on the airfield.

Watch A Busy Airport Add Another Layer
Scottsdale Airport already handles a heavy flight schedule. The airport recorded more than 160,000 takeoffs & landings during 2025. It operates with one 8,249-foot runway. Corporate jets make up a large share of its traffic. Hundreds of aircraft are based on the field. The airport also houses charter companies, maintenance firms, fixed-base operators, & U.S. Customs service.
- One primary runway
- Heavy corporate jet traffic
- International customs access
- Hundreds of based aircraft
Scottsdale Airport ranks among the nation’s busiest single-runway general aviation airports. Flexjet is entering an established aviation center rather than trying to build demand from scratch.
Follow The Money Around The Airpark
The airport’s reach runs past the runway. A City of Scottsdale study placed the airport’s annual economic output above $1 billion. That number includes airport operations, visitor spending, payroll, aviation companies, & Airpark businesses. The Scottsdale Airpark has grown into one of Greater Phoenix’s employment centers. Corporate offices sit beside aircraft services, retail areas, hotels, medical companies, & residential projects. Flexjet adds another large private investment to that mix.
- New construction spending
- Added office activity
- Aircraft maintenance operations
- Continued visitor traffic
- More aviation services
The terminal fits the Airpark’s role as a business center with national connections. It also gives private aircraft owners another reason to keep Scottsdale in their travel plans.
Connect The Terminal To North Scottsdale
The project sits near a wide group of North Scottsdale communities. DC Ranch lies farther north near the McDowell Mountains. Grayhawk sits near Scottsdale Road & Loop 101. Silverleaf, Troon Village, Troon North, Desert Mountain, Optima McDowell, & the Scottadale Road Loop 101 Corridor as a whole. It will extend the luxury residential map deeper into North Scottsdale. Buyers in these areas often study access to business districts, resorts, golf clubs, Loop 101, & Scottsdale Airport. The Flexjet terminal adds another aviation option to that location story.
- DC Ranch
- Grayhawk
- Silverleaf
- Troon Village
- Troon North
- Desert Mountain
- Optima McDowell
- Scottsdale Road & Loop 101
This doesn’t turn the terminal into a real estate project. It places a new aviation facility near communities where private travel may already play a role in ownership decisions.

Place The Project Inside A Growth Corridor
The Flexjet announcement arrives while the area around Scottsdale Airport keeps changing. Optima McDowell Mountain is rising near Scottsdale Road & Loop 101 with rental residences, condominiums, retail space, & pedestrian friendly areas. Cavasson continues building out near Loop 101 & Hayden Road with offices, residences, hotels, restaurants, & meeting space. Greater Kierland remains a center for shopping, dining, offices, resorts, & high-rise living. Nearby business growth has also led some local observers to call this wider corporate corridor Headquarters Alley. Flexjet now adds private aviation infrastructure to the same part of “The Valley.”
- Optima McDowell Mountain
- Cavasson
- Greater Kierland
- Headquarters Alley
- Scottsdale Airpark
These projects serve different uses. Together, they show how much investment is moving through North Scottsdale’s Loop 101 corridor.
Keep The Parque On The Radar
The Parque brings another major proposal to the area south of the Airpark. The Scottsdale City Council approved plans for the former CrackerJax site at 16001 North Scottsdale Road. The project carries an estimated value near $1 billion. Plans cover more than 30 acres with residences, hotel rooms, commercial space, open areas, & a pedestrian friendly layout. Its location places it near Scottsdale Airport, Kierland Commons, Scottsdale Quarter, & the wider Airpark district. Construction timing may move as approvals, design work, & financing progress.
- More than 30 planned acres
- Residential development
- Hotel space
- Commercial uses
- Public open areas
- Scottsdale Road location
The Parque adds scale to a corridor already drawing new housing, business campuses, restaurants, & aviation investment. Flexjet’s terminal now becomes part of that same North Scottsdale development story.
Watch What Happens Next
Flexjet’s groundbreaking marks the start of a new phase at Scottsdale Airport. Construction will bring the passenger terminal, offices, hangar, terrace, & underground parking together on one site. The company will later confirm its opening schedule as work moves forward. Airport activity will continue while the facility takes shape. Nearby projects will also keep changing the area around Loop 101, Scottsdale Road, Hayden Road, & Greater Kierland. There’s plenty happening in one concentrated part of Scottsdale.
- Track the construction timeline
- Watch for Flexjet updates
- Follow airport activity
- Monitor nearby project progress
For local property owners, added investment could support area values over time. Supply, rates, property condition, & buyer demand will still shape the market. For now, the main news stands on its own.
