Desert Mountain

Desert Mountain is an 8,300-acre private, guard-gated golf community in North Scottsdale, set high in the Sonoran Desert near the Continental Mountains and Tonto National Forest. Established in 1986, the community spans 35 distinct villages with real estate ranging from custom estate homes and golf villas to cottages, homesites and select luxury condominiums. Its defining feature is an extraordinary private-club lifestyle built around seven golf courses, including six Jack Nicklaus Signature championship courses and the par-54 No. 7 course. Elevated terrain, desert architecture, mountain views, golf course settings and city-light vistas make Desert Mountain homes some of the most distinctive luxury real estate in Scottsdale.

Essential Aspects Of Desert Mountain

Desert Mountain combines luxury homes with one of the most extensive private-club amenity programs in Arizona. Its villages offer everything from lock-and-leave residences and golf villas to substantial custom estates on multi-acre homesites.

Golf is central to the community, with Apache, Chiricahua, Cochise, Geronimo, Outlaw and Renegade comprising the six Jack Nicklaus Signature courses, plus the shorter No. 7 course. Members also have access to advanced golf instruction and practice facilities throughout the club.

Beyond golf, Desert Mountain features nine tennis courts, eight pickleball courts, swimming, spa and wellness services, and a 42,000-square-foot Sonoran Clubhouse with fitness facilities. More than 25 miles of private hiking trails extend into the surrounding High Sonoran Desert, while seven clubhouses and 10 restaurants and grills create a wide range of casual and upscale dining options.

The elevated North Scottsdale setting is another major part of the appeal. Many Desert Mountain homes capture views of the Continental Mountains, surrounding desert, golf courses and distant city lights. Scottsdale Airport serves private aviation farther south, while shopping and dining in Carefree, Cave Creek and North Scottsdale remain within reach.

A Unique Community Unlike Any Other

Living In Desert Mountain

Living in Desert Mountain is as much about the club as the real estate. Golf, tennis, pickleball, hiking, fitness, spa services and dining are woven throughout the community, allowing homeowners to spend much of the day within Desert Mountain without sacrificing access to the rest of North Scottsdale.

For buyers considering Desert Mountain homes for sale, the variety is unusually broad for a luxury golf community. Custom estates, golf villas, cottages, luxury condominiums and vacant homesites can all be found across its villages, with settings ranging from fairway frontage to elevated mountain and desert views. That combination of scale, recreation and High Sonoran Desert surroundings has helped Desert Mountain remain one of North Scottsdale’s most recognizable private golf communities.
