Estancia

Estancia is a private, guard-gated golf community set across approximately 640 acres at the base of Pinnacle Peak in North Scottsdale. The neighborhood is known for custom homes, dramatic desert architecture and one of Arizona’s most acclaimed private golf clubs. Homes are woven into the Sonoran Desert rather than placed on top of it, with boulder formations, saguaros, fairways and mountain views shaping much of the scenery.

There are roughly 264 homesites, which keeps Estancia relatively intimate compared with some of Scottsdale’s larger golf communities. Custom estates vary widely in style and size, from understated desert contemporary homes to substantial hillside residences with golf, mountain and city-light views.

Homes, Golf, & Amenities

Estancia is centered around the private club, but the community has a strong identity beyond golf.

  • Custom Homes: Residences are individually designed, with architecture ranging from contemporary desert homes to more traditional Southwest and Mediterranean styles.
  • Tom Fazio Golf: The 18-hole course stretches 7,314 yards and was Tom Fazio’s first Scottsdale design. It opened in 1996 and has remained nationally recognized ever since.
  • Invitation-Only Club: Membership at The Estancia Club is by invitation and is separate from simply owning a home in the community.
  • Clubhouse & Dining: The clubhouse offers private dining, social spaces and an outdoor patio overlooking Pinnacle Peak and the golf course.
  • Fitness & Wellness: Members have access to a fitness center, personal training, massage therapy and a variety of classes.
  • Tennis & Pickleball: Racquet amenities add another layer to the club lifestyle beyond golf.
  • Swimming: A heated 25-meter pool supports both recreation and lap swimming.
  • Pinnacle Peak Setting: The surrounding terrain is one of Estancia’s defining features, with native desert, granite outcroppings and elevated homesites throughout the community.
  • North Scottsdale Access: Pinnacle Peak Park, Troon-area dining, golf and everyday services are nearby, while Scottsdale Airport and larger shopping districts remain within reach.

Living In Estancia

Estancia has a different rhythm than a large master-planned community. There are no sprawling commercial districts or dozens of separate neighborhoods inside the gates. Instead, the focus is on custom homes, the landscape and the club.

A morning might start on the golf course or at the fitness center, followed by lunch at the clubhouse and an afternoon around Pinnacle Peak. At home, large windows, outdoor living areas and carefully positioned lots make the desert part of the experience. For buyers who want a smaller private golf community with substantial custom homes and a strong sense of place, Estancia remains one of North Scottsdale’s standout choices.
