WLH: Sylvia, let’s start here. What made you fall in love with real estate?

SYLVIA: For me, it was always about people first. Real estate is one of the biggest decisions someone will make, and being trusted in that moment means a lot. I started in corporate finance after graduating from DePaul University, and that gave me a strong business foundation. But real estate gave me something different. It gave me the chance to help people build the life they want. That part stuck with me.

WLH: You started your career in Chicago before coming to Greater Phoenix. How did that shape you?

SYLVIA: Chicago taught me a lot. It moves fast, and people expect you to know your numbers and know your market. That helped me build strong discipline and strong negotiation skills early. When I came to Greater Phoenix, I brought that same mindset with me. Clients want honesty, strategy, and someone who pays attention. That never changes.

WLH: You know the East Valley especially well. What do you love about that part of “The Valley”?

SYLVIA: I love how much personality each area has. Old Town Gilbert feels different from Chandler. Mesa moves differently than Scottsdale. Buyers are not looking for the same thing in every area, and that matters. I like helping people find the right fit for how they actually want to live, not just what looks good on paper.

WLH: You also stay close to what’s happening in North Phoenix and Peoria. Why is that important right now?

SYLVIA: Because growth changes everything. TSMC has created major movement, and people paying attention to North Phoenix and Peoria can see that. Projects like NorthPark, Halo Vista, Saddleback, and Verdin are shaping where people want to be next. Buyers want to understand future value. Sellers want to know where demand is headed. You have to stay ahead of that.

WLH: North Scottsdale has also been moving fast. What stands out to you there?

SYLVIA: There’s a lot happening there right now. Optima McDowell Mountain has people talking. Cavasson and Toll at Cavasson are bringing strong attention. The new Cardinals Training Facility and the full Scottsdale Road & Loop 101 Corridor are also changing how people look at that area. When development starts shifting that fast, buyers notice. It affects lifestyle, traffic, value, and long-term planning.

WLH: How important is local knowledge in luxury real estate?

SYLVIA: It’s everything. A home is not only the house itself. It’s the area, the future projects nearby, the schools people care about, the restaurants they’ll go to, and how their day-to-day life feels there. Clients need someone who understands that bigger picture. That’s where real guidance comes from.

WLH: You’re also fluent in Chaldean and Sureth. Has that helped you in your business?

SYLVIA: Absolutely. Being able to connect with people in a way that feels natural builds trust faster. Real estate is personal, and communication matters. When clients feel fully understood, everything works better. I’m proud of that part of who I am and how it helps me serve people.

WLH: What do you want clients to feel when they work with you?

SYLVIA: I want them to feel calm. I want them to feel prepared. I want them to know I’m paying attention and protecting their best interests. Strong service should feel thoughtful. It should feel personal. I never want people to feel like they’re just another transaction.

WLH: Outside of real estate, what keeps you busy?

SYLVIA: I stay active. I love tennis, Pilates, and spending time with my Mini Schnauzer, King. I also love being around Phoenix and Scottsdale because staying connected to the lifestyle helps me understand what clients are looking for. You have to know how people live here.

WLH: Final thought. What drives you right now?

SYLVIA: Helping people make strong decisions. That’s what keeps me going. I care about doing this the right way, building real trust, and helping clients feel confident in big moments. That part never gets old.
