Finish Line Auto Club Brings Car Condo Club To Scottsdale
Finish Line Auto Club
Scottsdale’s collector-car real estate scene has another major project moving forward. Finish Line Auto Club is preparing its first Arizona location at the former Fender Musical Instruments headquarters near Scottsdale Airport. Latest plans call for a roughly 140,000-square-foot auto club development, private garage condos, & a large owners’ clubhouse. Demolition of the Fender building began in September 2026, clearing a longtime corporate site for an entirely different kind of ownership concept.
Quick Points
- Approx. 140,000-square-foot project planned
- Former Fender headquarters being demolished
- Private garage condos available for ownership
- Large multilevel owners’ clubhouse planned
- First Finish Line location outside California
See What Finish Line Is Building
Finish Line Auto Club is bringing its Southern California model to 17600 N. Perimeter Center Drive in Scottsdale. The roughly 10-acre property sits close to Loop 101, Scottsdale Airport, WestWorld, & some of North Scottsdale’s largest residential communities such as Silverleaf and Kierland. Latest reported plans put the project at approx. 140,000 square feet spread across six buildings. Garage condos will give collectors individually owned spaces that can be customized around their vehicles. Finish Line also plans substantial common areas rather than treating the clubhouse as an afterthought. Construction is expected to take roughly 18 months once the new build gets underway.
- Approx. 140,000 square feet
- Six buildings in current plans
- Individually owned garage condos
- Customizable private spaces
- Multilevel clubhouse
- Controlled collector-car setting
Finish Line already operates clubs in Costa Mesa, Westlake Village, Palm Desert, & Calabasas. Scottsdale becomes its first location outside California, giving the company a foothold in one of the country’s most visible collector-car markets.

Watch The Fender Site Change Uses
The address already has a history in Scottsdale business. Fender Musical Instruments occupied the existing two-story office building for more than a decade before preparing its move to a new headquarters at the former Paradise Valley Mall redevelopment in Phoenix. That opened the door for another use on the Perimeter Center property. Finish Line acquired the site in 2026, with demolition beginning in September. What was once a traditional corporate office property is now being cleared for privately owned automotive spaces. The shift fits a larger pattern around Scottsdale Airpark, where valuable land continues to attract specialized real estate concepts. Proximity to private aviation adds another layer.
- Longtime Fender corporate location
- Approx. 10-acre site
- Close to Scottsdale Airport
- Fast Loop 101 access
- Existing office building being removed
Fender’s move makes this story especially interesting. Scottsdale isn’t adding this project on raw desert land. An established corporate address is being repurposed around collector cars, private ownership, & club space.
See Why The Clubhouse Matters
The garages are only part of Finish Line’s pitch. The company has built its California locations around a private-club format where car owners have somewhere to gather around the hobby. Scottsdale is getting a larger version of that idea. Recent plans describe an approx. 21,000-square-foot, four-level clubhouse with gathering areas, meeting space, a coffee shop, & rooftop space. Finish Line has placed considerable attention on these common areas as it prepares the Arizona location. That pushes the concept closer to an automotive country club than conventional vehicle storage. Owners can keep their collections on-site while having a separate place to meet other members.
- Approx. 21,000-square-foot clubhouse
- Multiple clubhouse levels
- Coffee shop planned
- Meeting areas included
- Rooftop gathering space
- Member-focused programming expected
That distinction matters. A garage can solve a storage problem. A private club gives owners a reason to spend time there.
Scottsdale has the clientele for it.

Put It Beside Scottsdale’s Other Car Condos
Finish Line isn’t entering an empty category. Scottsdale has several unrelated collector-car developments moving forward at the same time. Williams Luxury Homes previously covered the second Autobox project inside Scottsdale Airpark, where another group is adding privately owned garages near Scottsdale Airport. That story also tracked Elite Garages Scottsdale, Toy Barn, Arcadia Motor Club, & Finish Line as part of a much wider collector-storage trend across Greater Phoenix.
Farther north, the Collector’s Garage at WestWorld received approval for its own collection of private garage spaces. That project has separate ownership, separate plans, & a different site. The common thread is demand. More developers are betting that Scottsdale has enough collectors who want dedicated real estate for vehicles that may no longer fit inside the garage at home.

- Elite Garages Scottsdale
- Toy Barn
- Arcadia Motor Club
This is becoming a real category of Greater Phoenix real estate rather than a one-off idea.
Follow The Money Around Scottsdale Airpark
The location helps explain why Finish Line wanted Scottsdale. Private aviation, luxury residential development, automobile dealerships, employment centers, resorts, & major events already overlap around this part of the city. Scottsdale Airport sits near the center of it. That same area has seen new residential construction, business investment, private aviation expansion, & collector-car projects appear within a relatively tight radius. We recently looked at that broader transformation in Scottsdale Airpark Being Called Greater Phoenix’s ‘Oceanfront’.
Finish Line adds another piece.
A collector can live in a condo or large home nearby. A private aircraft can sit minutes away. A vehicle collection can have its own address.
That concentration of specialized real estate says plenty about where developers believe wealth is moving.
Finish Line Auto Club’s Scottsdale location is currently targeting a 2028 opening. With demolition underway & construction next, the former Fender property gives us another project to watch as Scottsdale’s collector-car real estate market keeps growing.
