The Bishop Condo Project Approved In Old Town Arts District

The Bishop Gets Approval

Old Town keeps changing. Another project just cleared a city vote. This one swaps worn buildings for a new live-work address in the Arts District.

The plan is called The Bishop. Pario Development will build it. Architect C.P. Drewett shaped the design. Seventeen condos to sit above street-level commercial space.

The goal is simple. Add homes. Add street activity. Keep the area pedestrian friendly in the heart of “The Valley.”

Quick Points

  • 17 luxury condo residences planned

  • About 6,500 square feet of retail space

  • Three-story structure in the Arts District

  • Private garages & in-unit elevators planned

Old Town Site Gets Fresh Start

The site held old structures that sat empty and worn. Now the land moves into a new chapter. City approval clears the path for construction in Old Town Scottsdale’s Arts District.

Pario Development leads the project. Architect C.P. Drewett drafted the structure. The building rises three stories and keeps a scale that fits the nearby blocks. The plan blends housing with street-level commercial space. That mix pushes more daily activity onto the street grid.

Old Town has seen steady reinvestment in recent years. The Bishop adds another project to that shift. More residents mean more life on nearby sidewalks, shops, and galleries.

  • 17 condominium homes

  • 6,500 square feet retail space

  • Three stories total

  • Located in Arts District

The plan turns an idle parcel into a new address. For Old Town, that shift matters.

Residences Aim For Private City Living

Inside the building, the homes focus on large layouts and private access. Each unit includes a garage built for two or three vehicles. Residents also get an in-unit elevator that links garage and living space.

That setup creates a rare format for housing in Old Town Scottsdale. Many condo buildings rely on shared garages and elevators. The Bishop moves in another direction. Owners enter through private garages, then rise straight into their residence.

The concept pushes a live-work feel. Street retail stays active below. Homes sit above the storefront level.

  • Large floor plans

  • Private garages

  • Two or three vehicle capacity

  • In-unit elevators

The layout blends privacy with city life. Step outside and Old Town sits right there.

Design Pushes Street Life In The Arts District

The building design leans on raw materials and wide roof lines. Exposed concrete, zinc, glass, and plaster shape the exterior. Large roof overhangs create shade along the structure. Indoor-outdoor living areas tie the residences to the desert climate.

The surrounding site plan extends the focus to the street. Walkways guide pedestrians along the block. Native landscaping fills edges of the property. Soft lighting lines paths after sunset.

All of it helps the block feel more pedestrian friendly. That matters in the Arts District where galleries, restaurants, and shops cluster close together.

  • Exposed concrete exterior

  • Zinc panels & glass

  • Roof overhangs

  • Native landscaping

  • Ambient lighting

The project also sits near Western Spirit Museum of the West. Restaurants and galleries line nearby streets. With The Bishop, the district gains new residents and fresh retail space right in the center of Old Town.
