With its recent 5-2 passing by Scottsdale City Council, it looks like The Parque will become a reality. This planned $1 billion development will be a big thing for the city of Scottsdale. About CrackerJax

CrackerJax was an amusement park that offered a variety of attractions and activities for people of all ages, such as mini golf, go karts, bumper boats, laser tag, arcade games, batting cages, and a driving range. It was located on Scottsdale Road, south of Bell Road, in the Kierland area of Scottsdale.

• CrackerJax opened in 1993 by the Herberger family, who owned the land and the park.
• The park was named after the popular caramel-coated popcorn and peanut snack that was invented in Chicago in 1896.
• It was one of the first amusement parks in the Phoenix area to offer go karts, which were imported from Italy and could reach speeds of up to 25 mph.
• It hosted many events and parties for families, schools, corporations, and charities over the years, such as birthday parties, team building, fundraisers, and holiday celebrations.
• Known for its friendly and helpful staff, its clean and well-maintained facilities, and its affordable prices.
• Faced some challenges and criticisms, such as competition from other entertainment venues, noise complaints, outdated equipment, and limited parking space
• Sold in 2022 to George Kurtz, a tech billionaire and the co-founder and CEO of cybersecurity company CrowdStrike.
• Closed on April 18, 2022, after 29 years of operation.

CrackerJax was a beloved destination for many people who grew up in or visited Scottsdale. It will be remembered for its exciting atmosphere. And it’s fun attractions! Not too mention its contribution to the community. It was a place where people could have a blast. And that they did.

The Parque is set to be a transformative project on the site of the former CrackerJax amusement park. The Parque’s Future

As of December, 2023, there is no other info on construction timing other than the developer wants to start it ASAP. The Parque will definitely appeal to tech entrepreneurs, innovators, knowledge workers, those into the growing field of AI, and venture capitalists. It is a very important project for Scottsdale’s future. Lastly, it will greatly help build up the city’s growing tech sector. With its stellar location next to Scottsdale Airpark, it will be easy for tech leaders from Silicon Valley and other cities to access. With a two-acre central park and features that make The Parque a place want to live, workm, and play, it’s something of which lovers of real estate in Scottsdale are excited.
